Abundant Life Outreach Ministry for families, offers services to families who suffer from or are associated with abuse: workplace violence, domestic violence, rape, incest, child abuse or other violent acts.  Through God’s plan it is our goal to minister to and provide needed resources and education to break the cycle of violence.  In addition, we provide holistic services needed to help families to become completely delivered from violence and sustain healthy lives.  We also strive to increase safety, confidentiality, community awareness about the issues of abuse and we provide training for prevention and quick intervention.

We hope that you will join us in your role as a individual, Family and or community group member to end domestic violence.  Become a personal advocate against domestic violence. Speak out against it and in favor of holding perpetrators accountable.  Try to enlist men and women you know and trust to become proactive against domestic violence.  Talk to your children about the importance of mutual respect in a relationship.  Model proper behavior before them.  Speak to your clergy and help them understand the issue and be prepared to address it.  Support Abundant Life Outreach Ministry for Families through donations and volunteerism.

What Is Domestic Violence?

Domestic abuse constitutes a pattern of behavior whether expressed physically, psychologically, verbally and spiritually.  Or, in the destruction of the victim’s property that threatens to do harm within the marital and intimate relationship.

Such abuse is usually not a one time occurrence; the abuser and the victim minimize it.  The relationship can become cyclical, and escalate in severity over time.  In the absence of intervention the violence will continue and often results in physical death.

Domestic Violence Statistics

¨       One violent crime is committed every 21 seconds.

¨       1.3 adult women are raped every minute.

¨       4 million women are physically abused by their mail partners each year.

¨       95% of all domestic violence in heterosexual couples is perpetrated by men.

¨        1 in 3 girls, and 1 in 5 boys, will be sexually abused by an adult by age 18.
